5 For The Road..

Interstate 60 (2002) - (7.5/10) - A modern day adventure fairy tale about a young guy looking for the answer to his life and on a search for the girl of his dreams (literally!). I can't count the number of times this movie made me actually smile...Good stuff. Go rent it!

Freeway (1996) - (7/10)

Man on the Moon (1999) - (6.4/10)

Babel (2006) - (6/10)
Watch Trailer:

The Return (2006) - (3.8/10) Do I enjoy horror films? Yes. Am I a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar? Yup. Did I like this "horror" movie? Nope. Was it a complete bore? Yes.

Dead Alive and Flight of the Navigator

Dead Alive (aka Braindead) (1992) - (4.8/10) - Horror comedy. Zombies. Lot and lots of gooey bloody gore. From the same person who directed the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Watch Trailer:

Flight of the Navigator (1986) - (6.7/10) - Looking for one of those 80's family adventure movies? This is one of them. It's about a boy from 1978 who turns up 8 years in the future but has only been gone for about 4 hours so he hasn't aged a bit. So NASA practically hold him hostage to determine the how/why of his time travel. Oh, and a spaceship is involved.

Last 5 Movies

Go Check It Out (6.5-10)

Fast Food Nation (2006) - ( 7/10) - A well written script with a fantastic ensemble cast make this movie a must-see! Not to mention the entire premise of the story is revealing, sick, sad, and funny (a couple of times) at the same time. If you eat fast food...like most people do...then you need to see this movie! The Trailer:

Simply Okay (5.1-6.4)

Science of Sleep (2006) - (6/10) - Brought to you by the same person made Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind..But not nearly as good. This movie is more of mental trip than anything else. The Trailer:

The Motel (2006) - (6.1/10) - Puberty sucks. It sucks even more if you're an awkward boy working and living at the family-owned motel. A motel always filled with low lives and prostitutes. The trailer:

300 (2006) - (6/10) - I had been looking forward to this movie since they showed the very first footage back at comic con last year....and well...It didn't meet my expectations. Visually stunning. Great battle sequences. No character development so it's completely impersonal and you don't care at all about what happens to the characters. The good guys and bad guys are way too oversimplified and one dimensional. Way too much slow motion usage...At time I thought I was watching a John Woo movie! The movie could have a full 30 minutes shorter if they got rid of 50% of the slow motion! So it's a decent popcorn flick and not much else.

Not Missin' Much..But Not Terrible (4-5)

The Good German (2006) - (4/10) - Boring. A letdown considering Clooney is the star and all...

An awesome video for an awesome song!

Last 10 Movies

Here is a list of the last 10 movies I have seen divided into 4 categories: Go Check It Out! (Score 6.5-10), Simply Okay. (5.1-6.4), Not Missin' Much..But Not Horrible (4-5), and Avoid! (3.9 and below)

Go Check It Out (6.5+)
Syriana (2005) - 6.7/10 - Only check this one out if you're interested in global politics regarding the correlation of oil-power-money. Even though much of it consists of talking heads there are quite a few tense sequences.

Simply Okay (5.1-6.4)
Copying Beethoven (2006) - (6.3/10) - Probably the first decent film about Beethoven. The movie only focuses on the very last part of his life...So don't expect to learn much about him. Still waiting for an Amadeus caliber film about Beethoven.

The Host (Gwoemul) - (2006) - (6/10) - The most successful Korean movie ever. It's a monster flick that focuses around a very likable family that does what ever it takes to get back the youngest girl of the family from the monster. A nice combination of drama, horror, suspense, and humor. Check out the trailer.

The Chumscrubber (2005) - (6/10)
Watch the Trailer
It's about the breakdown of communication between teenagers, friends, family, and everyone else involved. The lack of communication.

Alphaville (1965) - (6/10) - A future where things like love and passion are against the law and just a memory to limited few.

Sleeping Dogs Lie (Stay) (2006) - (5.3/10) - A young woman has issues with being completely honest in her relationship due to doing something to her dog while she was bored one night in college...

Not Missin' Much..But Not Horrible (4-5)
Thunderball (007 #4) (1965) - (4/10) - Just couldn't get into this one...A little too slow for me.

Blade Runner Director's Cut (1982) - (5/10) - I know I am in the serious minority when I say this...But I prefer the theatrical version with the voice over. Go ahead and shoot me.

Just Like Heaven (2005) - (4/10) - Caught this on HBO...It's cute but nothing new. Very predictable with the usual combo of makes-you-smile-but-not-laugh humor and sad-but-you-know-happy-ending-is-near elements.

Avoid! (3.9 and below)
Shortbus (2006) - (1/10) - If there is one movie you should miss this lifetime..This is it. Stay away. Really.

I Should Be Studying

.."Should" being the operative word.

So is umm..is like sword fighting the new cool thing to do to get a gal? I don't know..doesn't seem like the best way to go about things if ya ask me...Not to mention I'm not quite certain where to buy one...anyway...

See people..this is why staying at home to study never works. You just end up online. it's a proven fact...If I don't get into med school I'm gonna blame the internet!
